Purpose:
This virtual public hearing is being conducted to afford affected property and business owners, interested persons, organizations, and local governments the opportunity to provide comments to FDOT regarding the proposed median changes to Alternate (Alt.) US 19/ SR 595/Seminole Boulevard from south of 53rd Avenue North to south of 102nd Avenue North, Seminole, Pinellas County, Financial Project Identification (FPID) Nos: 436485-1-52-01 and 436485-1-52-02. The existing median openings at the following locations will either be closed or modified: 1) Blossom Lake Drive; 2) Median opening immediately south of 66th Avenue North; 3) Median opening immediately south of 70th Avenue North; 4) Lake Vista Drive South; 5) Lake Vista Drive North; 6) Lake Breeze Drive; and 7) Median opening immediately north of 86th Avenue North.
This VPH is held pursuant to Chapters 120, 335.18 and 335.199, Florida Statutes. FDOT will receive verbal comments at each VPH viewing location and on line from registered webinar participants. Written comments may also be submitted at each VPH viewing location. Written or emailed comments not received at the hearing must be postmarked or emailed by May 31, 2019, to become part of the official public hearing record. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to attend and participate in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven, Alternatives Public Workshop to learn more about the Westshore Area and Downtown Tampa Interchanges, and the I-275 corridor between these two areas. The workshop will cover the Northwest (Veterans) Expressway, and Tampa Interstate Study Segments 1A, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B (also referred to as Tampa Bay Next Sections 4, 5, and 6).
The Florida Department of Transportation is holding this public workshop on two separate dates and locations to allow for maximum participation.
 
The Alternatives Public Workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Cuban Club located at 2010 N. Avenida Republica de Cuba (14th St.), Tampa, Florida 33605, and on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Tampa Marriott Westshore located at 1001 N. Westshore Boulevard, Tampa, Florida 33607. The Alternatives Public Workshop will take place at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Information presented at each workshop will be identical.

The Alternatives Public Workshop is being held to allow interested persons an opportunity to provide comments concerning the location; conceptual design; and social, economic, and environmental effects of the Tampa Interstate Study (TIS) Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) and the Northwest (Veterans) Expressway Design Change Re-evalulation.
Information related to Historic Resources will also be provided at the Alternatives Public Workshop. This information will present the Section 106 process and schedule for identifying and evaluating historic resources, determining significant historic properties, and evaluating potential impacts to significant historic properties.
As part of the project development process and in accordance with Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966, FDOT is seeking comments from the public on potential impacts to parks and recreation areas. Several alternatives under consideration would require a portion of the property from the northwest corner of Perry Harvey Sr. Park and all options potentially impact the northeast corner of the Julian B. Lane Park with a proposed bridge over the area between Green Street and the River. Comments on potential effects of the project on the activities, features and attributes of these resources are appreciated.
