Time: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Location Name: Broward Traffic Management Center
Street Address: 2300 West Commercial Boulevard
City: Fort Lauderdale FL 33309
Purpose:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), as part of the 95 Express Project in Broward County, has started to install ramp signals at some of the on-ramps to I-95.

FDOT is holding a series of one-hour briefings to provide elected officials and law enforcement officials in the I-95 corridor with an overview of the Ramp Signal System, how it works and the benefits the system provides.

Additional briefings will be held between 9 a.m. and 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 13 also at the Broward Traffic Management Center.

Ramp signals are traffic control devices that alternate between red and green flashing lights to control the rate at which vehicles enter the highway.

The Ramp Signal System is part of an overall congestion-relief plan, which, along with 95 Express, is helping I-95 become a safer, more efficient road to travel in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Dates for the activation of the system have not yet been determined.
