Purpose: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (Enterprise) will hold an Alternatives Public Information Meeting on Monday, January 30, 2023 (virtual) at 6;00 p.m. (EDT) and on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 (in-person), at 5;30 p.m. (EDT) for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for Widening Sawgrass Expressway (SR 869) from west of US 441 to Powerline Road (FPID 437153-1). The proposed improvements include widening of the Sawgrass Expressway and Florida’s Turnpike, new collector distributor roadway systems along the Sawgrass Expressway and improvements to the US 441, Lyons Road, and Florida’s Turnpike interchanges with the Sawgrass Expressway. The meetings are being held to give interested persons the opportunity to review the project alternatives being considered, provide written comments, and speak with project staff. Interested persons may participate in the meeting in the following ways; 1) Virtually from a computer, tablet, or phone on Monday, January 30, 2023. Participants attending virtually may join the Alternatives Public Information Meeting in listen-only mode by calling 1-562-247-8422 and entering the access code 804-042-028 when prompted. Virtual/online and telephone attendees will participate in the same virtual Alternatives Public Information Meeting; or 2) In-person by going to the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel, 11775 Heron Bay Boulevard, Coral Springs, FL 33076 on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The in-person meeting will be conducted in an informal open house format. If you wish to participate in the meeting virtually, please visit the project website, www.Sawgrass441toPowerline.com, to register. Please note that registration works best in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox web browsers. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email that includes instructions on how to join. The virtual meeting will begin with a project informational video at 6;00 p.m. (EDT), on Monday, January 30, 2023. The Study team will then answer questions received during registration. The in-person meeting will begin at 5;30 p.m. (EDT) on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The same project informational video played at the virtual meeting will be shown at the in-person meeting. All meeting materials, including project displays, will be available on the project website, www.Sawgrass441toPowerline.com, the day of the virtual meeting. Comments or questions about the project may be submitted via the Alternatives Public Information Meeting registration form located on the project website, www.Sawgrass441toPowerline.com.
