Purpose: SR 856/William Lehman Causeway Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study Miami-Dade County, Florida Financial Project ID: 449745-1-22-01 Federal Aid Project Number: D624-061-B Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) Number: 14570 The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Six, will host a Project Advisory Group (PAG) Meeting for the SR 856/William Lehman Causeway PD&E Study. The limits of this project extend from SR 5/US 1/Biscayne Boulevard to SR A1A/Collins Avenue in Miami-Dade County. The purpose of this project is to accommodate pedestrian and bicycle activity, improve connection between the mainland and coastal non-motorized networks, and improve safety conditions. The purpose of the PAG Meeting is to provide an update on the study and obtain input from advisory members who can offer local insight, share feedback and help ensure community perspectives are reflected throughout the study. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. ยง 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT. The PAG Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. โ€“ 7 p.m. at the Northeast Dade โ€“ Aventura Branch Library located at 2930 Aventura Boulevard, Miami, FL 33180.
