The public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. and will be offered in-person and virtually simultaneously. Purpose: Public Kick-Off Meeting Jenkins Road From CR 712/Midway Road to SR 68/Orange Avenue Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study St. Lucie County, Florida Financial Project Identification Number: 446331-1-22-02 Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) Number: 14530 Federal Aid Project Number: D423 020 B On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), you are invited to a Public Kick-Off Meeting for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for the above referenced project. The PD&E team has been collecting and analyzing data within the study area that will be presented at the Public Kick-Off Meeting. A PD&E Study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this project is to promote system linkage, support transportation demand, and enhance multimodal connectivity within the area along South Jenkins Road. System linkage includes filling the roadway gaps along Jenkins Road and widening Jenkins Road by adding lanes to address future transportation demand. Multimodal improvements include adding sidewalks, shared use paths, and bike lanes to increase the safety of the local community. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT. The Public Kick-Off Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2025 (Virtual), and Thursday, March 6, 2025 (In-Person): ¿Virtual: Persons who do not wish to attend the Public Kick-Off Meeting in person can join the meeting virtually at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
