Purpose: On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, you are invited to a Public Kick-Off Meeting for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for the above referenced project.
A PD&E Study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social,
economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this project is to improve intersection capacity and address future traffic demand. The project will also improve safety and enhance modal interrelationships with bicycle, pedestrian, and transit modes.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.
The Public Kick-Off Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, 2023 (Virtual), and Thursday, March 30, 2023 (In-Person). There are two ways to participate in the meeting:
¿ Virtual: Persons who do not wish to attend the Public Kick-Off Meeting in person can join the meeting virtually at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. To join the meeting, please use the following link

¿ In-Person: The Public Kick-Off Meeting will be held at ArtServe located at 1350 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, on Thursday, March 30, 2023. The latest social distancing guidelines will be followed. The Public Kick-Off Meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. as an open house format.
The same information will be presented at both the virtual and in-person Public Kick-Off Meeting, so attending both is not necessary. Participants are requested to register in advance for the virtual Public Kick-Off Meeting by visiting the project website at https://www.fdot.gov/projects/US1GatewayPDE. All exhibits presented at the Public Kick-Off Meeting can be viewed electronically on the project website.

The project consists of three separate segments within three cities as follows: Kimberly Boulevard from SW 81st Avenue to SR 7 in North Lauderdale; SW 11th Street from SR 7 to SW 49th Terrace in Margate; and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from NW 12th Avenue to NW 10th Avenue, in Pompano Beach. The in-person meeting will follow an open house format.
¿ The in-person meeting for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard segment will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Pompano Beach Branch Library located at 50 West Atlantic Boulevard, Pompano Beach, FL 33060. The inperson meeting will follow an open house format.
Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions will be answered
in the order received. If your question is not answered during the event, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting. Questions and comments may also be submitted prior to the meeting by emailing the Project Manager.

Purpose: On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), you are cordially invited to a Public Meeting for the above referenced projects.
The project consists of two different segments: the Roadway Project (FPID 446181-1-52-01) and the Bridge Project
(FPID 441456-1-52-01). The Roadway Project will address the deficient pavement conditions by repaving the existing asphalt pavement and other improvements to improve traffic and pedestrian safety. The Bridge Project will provide bridge rehabilitation that will include structural repairment to the bridge, mechanical and electrical work, as well as a tender house parking area.
The Public Meeting will be held in two formats: in-person and virtual.
