Purpose: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public meeting for the S.R. 295 Resurfacing, Rehabilitation and Restoration design project in Escambia County on Thursday, Jan. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (CST). This event will be held both virtually and in-person to provide information about the project and provide an opportunity for inquiries and comments.
Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend the virtual meeting and may register online at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the meeting in-person at the Pensacola State College, Warrington Campus, 5555 U.S. 98, Student Services Building 3600, Room 3611, Pensacola, FL. Pre-registration is required for the virtual format and encouraged for in-person attendees. The same materials will be presented for each format.
Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so at the meeting or may contact the FDOT Project Manager using the information provided above. The deadline to submit official comments related to this public meeting is Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
This project includes a 3.7 mile segment of S.R. 295, from North of S.R. 292 (Barrancas Avenue) to S.R. 727/295. This project is aimed at preserving and extending the service life of the existing pavement, including existing travel lanes, auxilliary lanes, median crossovers, and paved shoulders. Additional improvements will include Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enhancements, signalization and lighting improvements, signing and pavement markings, and access management modifications at the Coast Road and Martha Avenue intersections. Bids for construction are scheduled to occur in Summer 2025.
