Purpose: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has information regarding the S.R. 155 (Meridian Road) from S.R. 61 (Thomasville Road) to County Road (C.R.) 63A (Lakeshore Drive) resurfacing project in Leon County. This information can be viewed at 12 p.m. (EST) Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. This information provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of this project is to resurface the existing travel lanes and auxiliary lanes on S.R. 155 (Meridian Road) from S.R. 61 (Thomasville Road) to C.R. 63A (Lakeshore Drive). A 600-foot section of sidewalk will be constructed on the west side of Meridian Road from Pinewood Drive to John Knox Road to improve connectivity. Additional improvements include upgrading existing curb ramps and pedestrian signals to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access requirements, updating signing and striping, and replacing guardrail, damaged curb and curb inlets. Purpose: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public hearing concerning the S.R. 389/East Avenue Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from Port Panama City to CR 2337 (Sherman Avenue) in Bay County on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. The public hearing will begin with an informal open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (CDT), followed by a formal presentation and public comment period. Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend the virtual hearing at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the hearing in-person at the Daffin Clubhouse, 320 North Kraft Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401. Pre-registration is required for the virtual format and encouraged for in- person attendees. The hearing is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to review the results of the study and to provide input on proposed improvements. The intent of the study is to evaluate the potential for improving the roadway deficiencies along East Avenue which will ensure the roadway is a freight friendly corridor that also serves the bicycle/pedestrian needs of area residents.
