Purpose: Public Kick-Off Meeting State Road (SR) 714/Monterey Road at Florida East Coast (FEC) Railroad Crossing Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study Martin County, Florida Financial Project Identification Number: 441636-2-22-02 Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) Number: 14527 On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) you are invited to a Public Kick-Off Meeting for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for the above referenced project. A PD&E Study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this project is to enhance traffic operations, support growing transportation demand, establish more efficient system linkage, facilitate enhanced emergency evacuation, and improve the network of sidewalks and bike lanes to meet both social and transportation-related demands in Martin County, Florida. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT. The Public Kick-Off Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, both virtually and in-person. ¿Virtual: Persons who do not wish to attend the Public Kick-Off Meeting in person can join the meeting virtually at 5:30 p.m. To register for the Public Kick-Off Meeting, please use the following link https://tinyurl.com/montereyrdmeeting.
