The project is needed to address traffic congestion and safety concerns with a secondary need to accommodate planned developments. In February 2024, FDOT held a virtual and in-person Hybrid Alternatives Public Meeting for the SR 16 from IGP to I-95 PD&E Study. At these meetings, residents and interested stakeholders were able to review the project and provide comments regarding the improvements. Since that time, changes have been made to the proposed project. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to provide information on the study findings, discuss the preferred alternative, and once again receive your input.
For your convenience there are several options to participate in the Public Hearing including an in-person option, and a virtual/online option. Virtual Option: Tuesday, August 26, 2025; Open House 5:30-6:00 p.m. Presentation and Public Comment Period: 6:00 p.m. Register at www.nflroads.com/VPH or https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6432433734839338589 and In-Person Option: Thursday, August 28, 2025; at the World Golf Village Renaissance, 500 South Legacy Trail, St. Augustine, Florida 32092; Open House: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A formal presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by an opportunity for attendees to provide verbal comments. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please note that comments must be postmarked by September 8, 2025, to be included in the formal Hearing record. As of August 5, 2025, draft documents will be available for review and download on the project website at (www.nflroads.com/SR 16) and in person, during normal business hours at the following location: St. Johns County Main Branch Library, 1960 N. Ponce De Leon Boulevard, St., Augustine FL, 32084. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
